Getting to Know Dinesh
What was your path to becoming a mental health provider?
My passion for psychology began during my school and college years, when I became deeply interested in understanding people and their emotional experiences. Since then, I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, and private practice. I have supported individuals, couples, and families through challenges such as anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship concerns. These experiences have shaped my approach to be compassionate, culturally responsive, and collaborative. Being a therapist brings me a deep sense of purpose, and I feel grateful to help people heal, grow, and build more meaningful lives.
What should someone know about working with you?
When working with me, you can expect a calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment. My goal in the first session is to help you feel safe, comfortable, and able to trust the process. I take time to listen carefully and understand your experiences, while asking questions about your past and present to better understand your story. You are always free to skip any question that feels uncomfortable. Therapy with me focuses on building a genuine connection and creating a space where you feel heard and respected. Progress often looks like gaining insight, learning coping skills, improving relationships, and feeling more confident in handling life's challenges. I enjoy working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
How do you continue learning and building new skills?
I believe learning is an ongoing part of being an effective therapist. I regularly participate in continuing education trainings related to trauma-informed care, multicultural counseling, and evidence-based approaches that improve client outcomes. I also stay updated through professional workshops, webinars, and clinical discussions with other professionals. My goal is to keep expanding my knowledge so I can better support clients from diverse backgrounds. I am particularly interested in learning more about trauma treatment, culturally responsive therapy, and new therapeutic techniques that help clients build resilience and improve their overall well-being.
"Success for me as a therapist is helping clients transform their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so they can move toward a healthier life."
